I believe all the of these and many more events and deaths left us with either a sense of “awe” or in disbelief.

Tell us This Rich Life Family, what event shook you the most in 2009???

Let me know your thoughts on this one Rich Life Community:

In a recent Larry King show, Jessie Ventura the former Governor of Minnesota, had a very insightful discussion regarding Same Sex Marriage and Separation of Church and State.

Follow this discussion:

JOHN KING (anchor of CNN’s “STATE OF THE UNION”): That’s absolutely right. And California, of course, when Prop 8 passed, when they repealed same-sex marriage out in California, …that is one of the things that generated this moving of people on both sides of that issue deciding to go back to the ballot. And, as you know, in California, many people wanted to take a little time to organize, supporters of same-sex marriage.

But if you see this Maine vote now and again — let’s watch it play out. But right now, the anti-gay marriage — those who oppose same-sex marriage are winning in the State of Maine, with about 30 percent more of the vote to count, though. And Maine is the state where in some those faraway rural counties. We may not have all of that in, Larry, until the morning.

Reform Party: You’re shaking your head, Jesse.

VENTURA: Well, it just shows a great example that there’s not a separation of church and state, is there?

I mean my position is this. You can’t put a civil rights issue on the ballot and let the people decide. You have to have elected officials who have courage, Larry, to make the right decisions.

Reform Party: The legislature did pass this.

VENTURA: Exactly. But now they’re putting it up to the vote of the people. I’ve got news for you, if you put it up to a vote of the people, we’d have slavery again, depending on how you worded it.

There’s been plenty of charismatic leaders or speakers that have galvanized people to follow the outrageous..ie, Hitler and Jim Jones (not the rapper).

Do you think it’s possible that some eloquent speaker or leader could convince American’s to bring back slavery in 2010?

Signs That Your Husband Or Wife Are Having an Affair - How to Catch a Cheating Spouse

Author: michael

So what are the signs that your husband or wife is having an affair?

Well for a start your partner’s sex drive will decrease or even stop dead, they will try to distance themselves from you as much as possible, or the reverse they may be overly nice to you.

Suddenly more hours are being done at work but there is no extra money is coming in to the house, or your partner starts to take more pride in the way they look. These are just a few signs of a cheating spouse, there are many, many more.

In my case my wife had an affair, she used to visit her sister and stay over every weekend, I thought nothing of it as she used to call me from her sisters house and the number was displayed when she called. But the signs that my wife was having an affair started to show. All of a sudden she left the kids with me when she stayed out, she bought new clothes and perfumes and started cooking for me all the time, she let me go out with my mates instead of trying to make me stay home with her.

It took me about seven months to catch her out as her sister always covered up for her, I just wish I had some of the resources then, that are available now to help to see the signs of a cheating partner. I would have saved a lot of the lies and hurt. The worst thing in any relationship is when you think your partner is being unfaithful.

Learn the truth and put an end to the lies.

Steve Phillips-Brooke Hundley Affair Reportedly Leads to ESPN Suspension

October 21, 2009 by ThisRichLife

ESPN baseball analyst Steve Phillips, embroiled in an affair with Brooke Hundley, has reportedly been suspended for a week by the network based on the public turn the affair has taken, including potential threats to Phillips’ wife, Marni Phillips.

Hundley is a 22-year-old production assistant with ESPN. According to the NY Post, she went off the deep end after the announcer dumped her, Phillips was forced to involve police in the situation, and the media caught wind of the news shortly thereafter.

“I have extreme concerns about the health and safety of my kids and myself,” Steve Phillips said in a police statement, adding that the woman became “obsessive and delusional” after he dumped her.
The Post obtained a copy of the letter Hundley sent to Marni Phillips, detailing her relationship with Steve Phillips. In short, it comes off as the ramblings of an insane person*. (And not “Jenn Sterger on Twitter insane”; this is Glenn Close on the big screen nutty.) The first paragraph is below, and if you’re so inclined, you can read the entire letter here.
Hi Marni,

My name is Brooke, I work with Steve and he and I got into a pretty heated argument on Sunday about the fact he hasn’t been honest with you about our relationship. You see, I’m the woman he’s been seeing for a while now, and I’m not just some random girl he had sex with in parking lots, I’m actually a close friend who works with him on a frequent basis. I care about him a lot and I’ve been asking him to come clean to you about everything, from when we first slept together in St Louis in his hotel suite (where he assured me I wouldn’t have to worry about getting pregnant since his vasectomy) to the fact that we have continued to talk, see each other and schedule meet-ups even since you found out. He’s upset because I told him I was going to tell you everything, but it’s important that you know this. We text all day when he’s at work and talk via hotel phones on the road. The texts have always been mostly about the sexual side of our relationship and I have some saved if you ever want to see them, basically stuff like when we’ll meet up next, what we want to do to each other physically and how we feel about each other.
In addition to the unhinged letters and phone calls, Hundley reportedly attempted to contact Phillips’ 16-year-old son through Facebook while posing as a teenager. She also supposedly ran her car into a large stone column after delivering the aforementioned letters to the Phillips home.

So, yes, a tad on the unnerving side if you’re part of the Phillips family. The nature of Hundley’s behavior, indeed, almost minimizes the whole week-long suspension problem from ESPN. Certainly, this isn’t “good” for Phillips’ public persona, but because of his previously known infidelities, it might not necessarily be a dealbreaker — witness Disney only punting him for a week and not immediately pushing him out like the good ship Salisbury. Or Harold Reynolds.

Young Warriers are Our Future

September 30, 2009 by The Closer

By now everyone has heard about the innocent young Chicago student, Derrion Albert, who was beaten to death for no plausible reason but being at the wrong place at the wrong time.  In response to this atrocity, Nas wrote one of the most eloquent letters to the young black men of the streets.

“Dear Young Warriors fighting the wrong wars! Killing each other is definitely played out. Being hurt from the loss of a love one was never cool.
Dear Young Warriors fighting the wrong war! I know that feeling, that frustration with life and needing to take it out on someone, anyone. But….

We chose the dumbest things to go the hardest for. I remember seeing deaths over 8 ball jackets, fila’s, and name plate chains. Deaths over “he say she say”!!!!! “I’m from This block or I’m from that block,” or “my moms n pops is f*cked up now the whole world gotta pay!!!”

I remember feeling like I was the hardest “n*gga” breathin. And I couldn’t wait to prove it. ?But let’s think. What r we really proving?? And proving what to who?? Everybody knows Chicago breeds the strongest of the strong but I just feel, me, being ya brother from another state, feel your pain as if I grew up with you in ya very own household.
You have the ability and mindpower to change the way we are looked at. Look who’s watching us young warriors, look who’s throwin us in jail constantly, look at the ignorance in the world. Look at the racist dogs who love to see us down. Lovin to bury us in the ground or in jail where we continue this worthless war on one another. Young warriors…. We are WASTING more and more time. We gotta get on our jobs and take over the world. Cuz this movie left the theaters years ago, Juice, Menace, Boys n the Hood, Blood n Blood Out, Belly!
When we see each other why do we see hatred? Why were we born in a storm, born soldiers, WARRIORS….and instead of building each other up we are at war with each other.. May the soul of this young person find peace with the Almighty. I’m with you young warriors. You’re me and I’m you. But trust me! You are fighting the wrong war.
This sh*t sucks !!”

So President Obama was caught calling Kanye a “jack-ass.”  Do you think the President should be able to voice his opinions? Or should he just remain quietly neutral?

I think the President has the right to voice his opinions….but, be ready to defend them….cause unlike the rest of us…the entire world will be listening.

Watch out all cheating husbands, lovers, and boyfriends……women are getting ganster.  A wife and three other women discovered that they were all having relations with the same man.  What did the women do?….They lured him into a motel room, tied him to a bed and glued his penis to his stomach.  WOW!!!  Glued his penis to his stomach.  Betcha Krazy Glue never thought about this as a marketing campaign.

Michael Vick Should Run For President of the United States

Someone, please explain to me why parents are up in arms that President Obama is speaking to school kids?  Something tells me that President Obama is not going to discuss the economy or healthcare with kids!  Even if you do not believe in his political views, is he not a great role model for kids?  Doesn’t he show that by working hard you can achieve almost any goal?

For such a “developed” country, Americans are the most narrowed minded people of this world.  No one made a stink when Michael Vick spoke to school children today.  It’s a shame that Americans prefer a convicted football player to speak to their kids than the President of the United States.  That’s right, I said it.

An Alabama mother was arrested for felony first-degree cruelty to children for DRAGGING her son thru a T-Mobile store.  Now, I’m a parent, but dragging your child!!!  She needs her ass beat for that one.

I think her punishment should be to tie her to a weightlifter (cause she’s no small woman!!!) and drag her thru IKEA.

If convicted, what do you think her punishment should be?

See ya tomorrow peeps.
